01What Radar is
Radar keeps track of two things in one place: new business (companies that might become clients) and recruiting (technicians who might become contractors). Nothing gets lost in an inbox, and the whole team can see who is working what.
- Leads: prospects you are working, from first contact to won or lost.
- Recruiting: contractor candidates, from sourced to active. Managers only.
Click ? Help at the top right of any screen to open the guide. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 account.
| Role | Leads | Recruiting and settings |
|---|---|---|
| Team member | Their own leads. They can create leads and work their own. | Not available. |
| Manager | All leads. Assign, reassign, delete, restore. | Everything: recruiting, Trash, history and settings. |
Access is checked on the server for every request, so a team member cannot reach manager screens even by guessing an address.
02Leads
The board and the list
The Leads tab shows a board with one column per stage: Unreviewed, New, Contacted, Qualified, Proposal, Won, Lost and Nurture. Drag a card to move it, or switch to a sortable list. A card is flagged as stale after 14 days without activity (managers can change this), and overdue next steps show in red.
Add a lead
- Click + New lead.
- Enter the company name (required), website, industry, size, location and source, plus who referred them if anyone.
- Add one or more contacts with name, title, email and phone.
- Enter the estimated monthly value, the next step and when it is due.
- Click Create lead.
Radar checks for duplicates before saving. If the company already exists as a lead or a client (same name, web domain or contact email) it shows you which one.
Fill in from an email, PDF or screenshot
Instead of typing, drop an email, a PDF or Word file or a screenshot on the New lead form, or paste with Ctrl+V. Radar fills in the fields for you to check. Nothing is saved until you click Create lead.
Radar never keeps Social Security numbers, dates of birth or bank numbers, even if they appear in the material.
Working a lead
Click a card to open it. Change any field, add contacts and log what happens: a note, call, email in, email out or meeting. Every entry shows who wrote it and when. Attach proposals and other files up to 25 MB each.
- Mark lost: pick a reason (price, competitor, no response, not a fit, timing or other). The reason is kept for reporting.
- Won: move the card to Won, then add the client to the client list.
- Nurture: not ready now, check back later.
- Delete: moves the lead to Trash, where managers can restore it.
03Recruiting (managers)
The Recruiting tab works like Leads, with its own stages: Unreviewed, Sourced, Contacted, Screening, Interview, Offer, Onboarding, Active, Bench and Not a fit.
Add a candidate
- Click + New candidate, or drop a resume or email on the form.
- Check name, email, phone, location, service areas, skills, certifications, years of experience, expected rate and availability.
- Click Add candidate. A candidate with the same email or name is flagged as a duplicate.
Onboarding
Keep the resume, contractor agreement, NDA and insurance certificate on the candidate, and tick items off the onboarding checklist. The contractor documents of record (W-9, signed agreement, insurance with expiry) are kept in Meter, not in Radar.
Do not store tax or bank information in Radar.
Contractor finder
Shows only Active and Bench contractors. Pick skills and service areas to find who can take a job.
04Trash, history and settings (managers)
- Trash: deleted leads and candidates. Click Restore to bring one back.
- Show changes: shows who changed what and when. Every create, change and delete is logged.
- Settings: the managers list (use Pick from team…), days until a lead is stale, the daily digest hour, retention for Not a fit candidates, insurance reminder days, and the lists of lost reasons, lead sources, industries, skills and service areas.
05Tips
- Log every call and email so the next person knows what happened.
- Always set a next step and a due date. That is what makes Radar flag overdue work.
- If the page looks old after an update, press Ctrl + Shift + R.
- Demo accounts see fictional sample data only.
